I studied IT-Systems Engineering in the Master's program at the Hasso Plattner Institute with a specialization in human-computer interaction and mobile & embedded systems. My thesis was about freehand gestural interaction with a Kinect sensor.
My interests are very broad and they currently include scalable web applications, mobile applications, tabletop systems, applied computer vision, machine learning, multi-touch and freehand gestural interaction. I enjoy working on interesting projects which require me to think on different levels from low-level optimization to high-level user experience questions.
I love programming in Python and Ruby, but it doesn't take much for me to fall back to C/C++. If it helps to get the job done, I also work with C# and Java and I am familiar with Objective-C and JavaScript. I worked with various libraries and frameworks in those languages including Cocoa, UIKit, OpenGL, Qt, Microsoft Surface SDK and OpenCV.
I am currently based in Leipzig, Germany, but willing to relocate. I also spent 5 months in Palo Alto, California during an internship at SAP Research and studied for 7 months in Jyväskylä, Finland as an exchange student.
